1) The site you want people to know about must be Harry Potter related.
2) You are here to advertise your site. You are not allowed to bash other sites. This is a board where people can visit the cyberworld of Harry Potter. Bashing and flaming other sites defeats that purpose.
3) You are encouraged to provide a description of what your site is like. Is your board like a Hogwarts School with the 4 houses in it? If so, provide a complete and thorough description of your site so people will be more inclined to come visit your site.
You may not advertise your site with words that in some way belittle other sites. Example include:
"Our site is the biggest and the best."
"No other site comes closer than us."
Though not a direct attack as I mentioned flaming in guideline #2, these are also comments that can discourage others from going to other HP sites.
4) You may bump up your site to make it on the first page if you like. Be aware that that is your responsibility to do so.
5) Positive feedback is encouraged in replies to those advertising sites... negativeness is not. This board was created for people to find sites. So if you are unhappy with one particular site, keep it to yourself and move onto another one.
6) If a particular Harry Potter site/board has house points for refering someone, you can put your refer-to in the initial post.
However, if you do visit another board due to a link from here, please say that you found the site from here.
